Scientific and technical information is challenging to communicate effectively so understanding the audience is critical.
Too often, communication is seen as a simple process of transferring information to "those who need to know". Similarly, "educating the public" can be thought to only require explanation and repetition. Poorly executed communication of scientific and technical information may cause confusion and is a real risk for any project to achieve its objectives.
Our Advantages
Aranovus Research has extensive and key communication skills and knowledge at its heart.
Marie is a published author and teaches Science Communication in the School of Environment at the University of Auckland, where she has been recognised with a National Tertiary Teaching Excellence Award. Her MA (Hons) research was completed in Media Studies, where she reviewed the public communication around two major biosecurity eradications that both involved aerial spraying of insecticides in urban Auckland. Marie has also worked in the pharmaceutical industry communicating scientific information to non-technical audiences.
Grant's written communication skills include editing a membership magazine and preparing digital content in addition to the preparation of many technical reports within the field of environmental management.
